As a Hospital facility, we have a Registered Nurse on duty at all times. The Clinical Nurse Manager oversees the care of all residents, in addition to the education of all registered nurses and caregiving staff.<\/div>\n

Geriatric specialist Dr Mark Arbuckle has attended the need of our facility weekly for 25 years! Access to an on call physician is also available should urgent medical attention be required at night or during the weekend. Should a patient prefer his or her own doctor, this is accommodated at the resident’s personal cost.<\/div>\n

Medications are controlled by nursing staff and kept to a minimum through consultation with our nurses, doctor and pharmacists. They are strictly monitored to ensure that medication is dispensed safely and correctly. We use the Robotics system of medication dispensing.<\/div>\n

\u00a0<\/div>\n
On occasion residents need to attend specialist, x-ray, medical, dentist or other such appointments. We encourage families to continue to take relatives to these appointments, to provide support and to have questions answered by specialists directly. An escourt and transport can be arranged at cost if required. Should any patients require the services of a social worker or translator, this can also be arranged.<\/div>\n

Our podiatrist, Papatoetoe celebrity Stefan Brzowowski has attended to any podiatry needs of the residents\u00a0 for almost 30 years. He visits every eight to ten weeks and is a very affordable option for those who find mobility difficult.\u00a0<\/div>\n

\u00a0<\/div>\n
Allied Health Services such as physiotherapist, dietician, speech and language pathologist are available to be referred to as required. Patients retain the right to seek these services privately at cost should they wish.\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n
